I just want to share a few tid-bits about an issue I ran across today while installing a brand, out the box Microsoft Surfacebook for a great Client that I have. This particular Surfacebook was joined to a corporate network, Windows 10 Pro edition with a dual monitor setup connected to a Microsoft Docking station. After I completely transferred all data, installed windows updates and changed a few settings, I had my client reboot, but the external monitors continue to flicker on/off. After unplugging the dock, waiting for a few minutes, then plugging the docking station back in, I continued to have this issue. I checked for more Windows Updates just in case an update may fix the issue – no luck. All updated were already applied and installed on the computer. After searching the internet I found the Microsoft Docking stations have their own separate software that you can download to update the dock. I installed the Microsoft Surface Dock Updater software and rebooted. After Login, I ran the updater software to update the dock. The process takes between 8-10 minutes to complete and you will have to disconnect the dock from the computer a few times before the update is complete.ow I’ve added “Update Microsoft Docking Stations” to my checklist for any Surfacebook installation. If you have any questions or need help with your Windows 10 installation or setup, you can email me or give me a call.
